About the event

A beloved Scottish tradition is coming to the Central Coast with the inaugural Pearly Spurtle: Festival of Porridge — a delightfully quirky celebration of oats, creativity and good old-fashioned fun.

Inspired by the famous Golden Spurtle — the World Porridge Making Championships held annually in Carrbridge, Scotland — the Pearly Spurtle brings a distinctly local twist to this time-honoured competition.

The Golden Spurtle has even made it to the big screen, with Australian filmmaker Constantine Costi capturing its charm and eccentricity in his documentary on the championships (now available on Netflix). View the film trailer here.

What to expect:

  • Porridge making competitions
