About the event

Think MasterChef meets Scotland... with porridge!

Inspired by the quirky Netflix documentary The Golden Spurtle, Australia's first-ever Pearly Spurtle – Festival of Porridge brings the excitement of Scotland's legendary World Porridge Making Championships to Pearl Beach.

Whether you're a passionate home cook, a professional chef, an oat lover or simply looking for a fantastic day out, there's something for everyone.

Throughout the day, competitors will battle it out in a series of live cooking heats, preparing both Traditional and Creative porridge dishes in front of judges and spectators. Watch the pressure build as contestants race the clock in a true MasterChef-style competition before the finalists go head-to-head to be crowned Australia's first Pearly Spurtle Champion.

The Overall Champion will win a return trip to Scotland to represent Australia at the world-famous Golden Spurtle - World Porridge Making Championships in Carrbridge.
