Hall Management Subcommittee

The Objectives of the Hall Subcommittee include, but are not limited to:

  • Properly manage and protect the fabric of the Hall is as the main asset of the Association

  • Ensure that the Hall is fit for its purpose as the key multifunction venue for the range of activities undertaken by the Association

  • Ensure that the Hall is compliant with the relevant mandatory codes and standards applicable to a public venue

  • Undertake the ongoing maintenance and capital works necessary to ensure that the Hall does not become a major financial burden of the Association

The Subcommittee will be responsible to the Association’s Executive for compliance with the above Objectives, and to this end will maintain and implement an ongoing Register of Maintenance and Capital Works for the Hall.

In October 2020 a separate Building subcommittee was created to manage the completion of the Hall Deck Upgrade project including the deck extension and new storeroom.

 

In the last 18 months alone there has seen a lot of activity including:

  • The installation of Air Conditioning

  • Replacement of the gutters around the back deck

  • The building of a cover over bookstore entrance

  • The sanding and recoating of the Hall floor

  • The clearing and recoating of the entire Decking and Sleepers at the front of the Hall

  • Replacement of the decking on the access ramp

  • Repairing of the western windows, and paiting of the front doors and side doors

  • The Internal painting paiting of the main Hall

  • The installation of Fairy lights

  • The upgrade of the Internet and installation of a wifi system that covers the whole site 

  • The upgrading of the Sound equipment

Acknowledgment of Country

The Pearl Beach Progress Association acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land and waters on which our members live and work. We recognise the continuing connection to lands, waters and communities as well as acknowledging them for the indelible mark they have left on our cultural and creative practices. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with whom we work and share stories.
