From the start, he joined the Bush Care Group, and later the Dune Care Group. He is also member of the Pearl Beach Environmental Group, which is a Sub Committee of the Progress Association, as well as being a member of the Progress Association’s Hall Committee.

For many years Malcom has been involved in the Pearl Beach Singers and their annual Glee Club performance. He has been the MC of the popular Christmas Carols each year in the Arboretum. He is also actively involved in the Art and Craft Group, assisting in organising and participating in the Artist’s Walk around the village.
