As you may recall, late last year Liesl convened a meeting with Pearl Beach residents, NSW Police and myself to discuss community concerns regarding hooning in and around Pearl Beach. Liesl has just written to the association with an update:

Liesi writes: I am advised by Superintendent Darryl Jobson, Commander of the Brisbane Water Police District, that following this meeting both Highway Patrol resources and general duties resources from the Brisbane Water Police District were tasked to target anti-social driving activity in the local area.
Between 20 December 2024 and 31 January 2025, Highway Patrol and general duties police attended the local area on 39 separate occasions. During these taskings, action was taken against a driver for a PCA offence and another driver for a drug driving offence.
Between 20 December 2024 and 12 March 2025, I am advised that there have been minimal driving complaints received in this area and it appears that the high visible policing presence has deterred anti-social driving activity in this area.
Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention. I trust this information is of assistance to you and the Progress Association.

Yours sincerely,
