At the recent Pearl Beach Progress Association General Meeting the community recognised the commitment that Victoria Crawford has made over recent times.

Publicity Officer, Lynne Lillico said ‘we need to acknowledge the outstanding contribution and management of a number of activities and processes including at short notice the role of President.   Additional areas of responsibility that Victoria managed and co-ordinated with the help of small groups of volunteers were Conveynor of the Hall Sub-committee, that included hall renovations and maintenance ensuring sufficient funds were available, and reviewing the associations constitution and at times as treasurer managing the financials and budget.’

The hall booking officer, Jeanne Albrecht personally comments - ‘ Victoria not only took on serious & responsible issues like the constitution and getting quotes for building work and so much more, but she also saw to the little things that kept us ticking over.  From buying the hand towels, toilet rolls, garbage bags, office supplies & anything else needed, to taking home tablecloths to wash & iron.  A special thank you Victoria for always being available to help when needed with the hall bookings. Your experienced advice is so very much appreciated’.

Over the past 18 months stepping up to fill gaps and ensure that the community remained cohesive and informed.  When the cafe unexpectedly closed followed by a devastating fire at the Amalphi Restaurant she looked for short term solutions such as sourcing a daily coffee van to park outside the Memorial Hall and provide the community with that welcome  morning coffee.  Her community spirit also led to her becoming our monthly back deck Community morning tea and coffee ‘Barista’ person.

Always available with help and advice Victoria’s energy and enthusiasm is an example to all of us.
