You can help lead the way with Curby recycling

Keeping Pearl Beach beautiful is something our community takes great pride in. Now there's an easy new way for residents to reduce waste going to landfill while helping improve recycling across Australia.
Curby is a free recycling program that allows households to recycle soft plastics through their regular household recycling bin — no special drop-off required.
Soft plastics such as bread bags, chip packets, pasta bags, frozen food bags, bubble wrap and plastic shopping bags can all be collected in a Curby bag (or attach a Curby sticker on your own bag — stickers are available at the hall) and placed into participating recycling bins.
Why it matters
Soft plastics have traditionally been one of the hardest household items to recycle. Instead, many end up in landfill or in our waterways or on our beaches.
By joining Curby, Pearl Beach residents can:

Getting started is easy
Sign up for Curby Rewards.
Receive your CurbyBags or Curby stickers (on your own bags)
Fill them with accepted soft plastics.
Tie the bag, scan the QR code and place it in your participating recycling bin.
What can you recycle?
Almost any clean, scrunchable soft plastic, including:
Bread bags
Chip and biscuit packets
Frozen food bags
Pasta and rice bags
Plastic shopping bags
Bubble wrap
Cling wrap
Fresh produce bags
Pet food bags
Magazine and newspaper wrap
Rigid plastics, food containers, polystyrene, foil and biodegradable plastics are not accepted.
