Residents of the Central Coast are invited to an engaging and practical environmental seminar on Saturday 28 February 2026 from 5:00pm to 6:45pm at the Pearl Beach Memorial Hall, exploring how homes and landscapes can be designed to better withstand the impacts of climate change.
Climate change and sustainability are increasingly present in daily news, particularly in relation to extreme events and the need for long-term community and environmental resilience. As communities face the growing impacts of a changing climate, questions remain about how we can respond and adapt — both within individual homes and across the broader environment.
These important issues will be explored at a Q&A-style seminar bringing together two leading exponents of sustainable design.

Architect Carol Marra, a leader in sustainability, climate resilience and regenerative environments, will share insights from her work designing homes and community spaces that support both people and nature.
She will be joined by Landscape Architect Matthew Taylor, who brings extensive national and international experience and is the Landscape Master Planner for the Pearl Beach Arboretum.
The seminar will be moderated by local architect Bruce Swalwell and will conclude with a panel discussion inviting attendees to share their own bushfire experiences and practical design ideas.
Tickets: $10 for PBPA members | $15 for non-members
