Spring Fair blooming success

The Pearl Beach Spring Fair was a great success, with plenty of locals turning out to enjoy a morning of cakes, plants, homemade preserves, food and gardening inspiration.

The cake stall was a particular hit, with every cake sold by 11am!

There was plenty of excitement around the Spring Fair Cake Competition, with the judging a close-run affair. But there could only be one winner — and this year’s top cake was a delicious carrot cake made by Vanessa Tully.

Vanessa was presented with her prize by Pearl Beach Progress Association President Naseema Sparks and her granddaughter Lucy. The generous prize was a $100 Kitchen Warehouse voucher donated by Naseema.

The Spring Fair’s plant stall was also a hit, while jars of homemade jams and pickles proved popular with shoppers. Hungry visitors tucked into yummy pulled pork rolls and nachos.

The morning wrapped up with Vanessa Farrell’s Pearl Beach Gardens talk, which was very well received, with plenty of interest and gardening inspiration shared with the audience.

A big thank you to everyone who baked, donated, volunteered, bought, ate and came along to support the Spring Fair.

It was part of a very busy long weekend and a wonderful way to welcome spring in Pearl Beach.
